The path to the truth
Truth Tellers, the Sir Harry Evans Investigative Journalism Summit, is an exclusive annual convening of the world’s most dogged reporters, photographers and data sleuths. Set up to honour the legacy of the pioneering newspaperman Sir Harry Evans, the summit’s purpose is to deepen the global networks that support fearless inquiry, celebrate the industry’s practitioners and remind the world why serious journalism is indispensable. In 2024 we created the summit branding and delivered a range of materials across a range of printed and digital formats.
JOINING THE DOTS
Sir Harry Evans’ work as a newspaper editor was distinguished by rigorous truth-seeking, which became the inspiration for our brand symbol. A TT monogram is formed by a meandering line connecting two points, suggestive of the investigative process taken in pursuit of the truth. The graphic language of the symbol is also applied more freely across various touchpoints.

SERIOUSLY STRIKING
To stand out in the ever-changing digital landscape of the sector, a vibrant aesthetic was key. Yet with such a high profile audience of global media leaders, a formal and authoritative tone was also necessary. To strike that balance, we paired our dynamic brand symbol with a modern take on classic newspaper typography and set it against fluorescent pink backgrounds to create a distinctive brand identity.

NO STONE UNTURNED
From invitations to display graphics, we worked closely with the Truth Tellers team to apply our branding across all the event’s touchpoints. This included creating a website to tease the lineup and host a livestream and producing a limited edition commemorative newspaper documenting Sir Harry’s illustrious career.
